Silverpipes (sunset) Lim. Ed.
“Nothing grows up to heaven, but I see the Silverpipes as thin straws striving upwards. Safe in the wind among the waving silver leaves that form a random pattern on the stem close to the ground. Shimmering colors are achieved by the addition of silver, producing a special effect in the glowing heat. Partly blown in a steaming wooden mould. The clear upper section is drawn freely by hand for as long as the hot glass permits. A masterpiece in the studio, which requires demanding glassblowing, and long arms.” Bertil Vallien, Silverpipes Designer
